My love for nature continues to lead me elsewhere during my weekends. Two weeks ago it led me to the White Mountains, chasing waterfalls and marveling at peaks. I left the city early, reaching the mountains well before 9. I chose the forests of Franconia Notch for my summer's day, focusing on three paths in particular: the Pemi Trail to the Basin; the Basin Cascade Trail to Lonesome Lake and the Lake Trail back to Lafayette Campground, where I had parked the car. I was far from alone during the hikes-families filled the paths with their enthusiasm and laughter. Still, I had a couple moments of solitary tranquility, finding my bliss so far away from Boston in the beautiful land of New Hampshire. The future foliage lets summer enjoy her last evenings-before long, I will be back.

A Saturday Evening in Olmsted Park
Tuesday, August 27, 2013
Here are pictures from a recent Saturday evening stroll through Olmsted Park, a place I have enjoyed immensely this summer. Now are the twilight days of the season, before the arrival of autumn and all the wonder the fall months carry. The days are shortening and the sun retires earlier and earlier, but before it does, therein lies the magic hour, when shots like the ones above were taken, thanks to the iphone 5. Here's to embracing the last summer evenings of the year.

Downtown Days
Sunday, August 25, 2013
Though I have been updating this blog less frequently, I've been taking more and more photographs of the city, only neglecting to share them. I've decided to share an assortment of these pictures I've taken over the course of the past few months and have given myself the assignment of sharing them on an actual, regular basis. To start, here are a handful of pics I've taken during my mornings before work and the lunches that break up the day. Hope they are enjoyable. All photos taken with the iphone 5.

A Lady Escapes: Home in Pittsburgh
Monday, August 19, 2013
I've been a very bad blogger as of late, and an even worse lady of Boston, who has kept leaving the city to venture elsewhere. Last month I ventured back to my beloved home of Pittsburgh PA, city of bridges and champions and pierogies. No place is quite like home and every time I return I wonder if there will be a time when I stay for good. That time is not now; I am back in New England enjoying what's left of summer, but I'm grateful to have returned to the place where three rivers converge, where we're all a bit crazy for the black and gold, and where homes are cradled by the hills.
